Needed for UCLA Study

for a research study comparing the safety and effectiveness of an experimental drug to placebo (inactive substance) Flovent. You will receive free medication and be compensated for your time.

You may be eligible for the study if you:

-Have been diagnosed with Asthma

-Have not been on a stable dose of inhaled corticosteroids for at least 3 months

-Are not pregnant

Possible risks include headache, worsening asthma, swelling in the nose, throat, hoarseness, oral fungus infection.

Participation requires 9 visits over 13 weeks and involves physical exams, blood and urine samples, breathing tests, home daily diary.

You may be compensated up to $460 for participation.

AIDS Research Alliance and UCLA need volunteers for a research study about rectal health and sexual behavior. This one-visit study involves a computer-assisted questionnaire, an anorectal examination, and testing for Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs). Volunteers will be compensated $100 for their time and inconvenience.

-Male or female

-18 years old or older

-HIV negative of HIV positive

-Report either receptive anal intercourse in the last 12 months or no receptive anal intercourse in the last 12 months.
