[Football preview] Student perspective
What do you expect of the UCLA football team this season? Ananya Sreepathi Third-year, biology “I don’t think they’re going to beat ’SC this year. They might make one of the lower bowl games, but they won’t compete for the Pac-10 title.” Chris Hyatt Fourth-year, philosophy “I think they’ll do one game or two games better than last year. I would like to see them beat USC. I think they have a chance, but they probably won’t beat them.” Gyron R. Makasiar Fourth-year, communication studies and sociology “It would be good for UCLA if the football and basketball teams did better this year. I hope they do better. I think the football team will show some improvement. Everything seems headed in the right direction.” Tania Lucinian Fourth-year, biochemistry “It will be nice if they beat ’SC, but (UCLA) kind of sucks at the present. The new coach and the players have to work together. I went to two games last year, and it was pathetic.” Stephanie Kim Fourth-year, environmental studies “I don’t think they can do any worse than last year, but I think they’ll do a lot better with the new coach.” Tamar Nazerian Third-year, physiological science “I hope they’ll do a lot better. They better beat USC. The new coach will make a huge difference. The players need guidance.”
