Beckerman off gymnastics team
Alyssa Beckerman, a member of two NCAA championship-winning teams in 2001 and 2003, was dismissed from the UCLA gymnastics team earlier this month. An alternate for the 2000 U.S. Olympic team, the senior has forfeited her athletic scholarship but is currently still attending UCLA. A spokesperson for the athletic department said it was a coach’s decision. Beckerman was reached via cellular phone but declined to comment on the matter. Head coach Valorie Kondos Field could not be reached for comment.
