Pump up the bass to get a date, therapy

Boom ... Boom ... Boom ... Boom.
You can hear and feel it from a mile away. No, it's not the cannons from the 1812 Overture, it's the sound of music being played at an insanely high volume from a tiny car turning the corner.
Why ... do some drivers insist on turning their car radios up so loud that the vehicle ends up bouncing down the road instead of rolling on its tires? At such volume, the lyrics and tune get lost in vibration and base.
Some even go as far as to purchase special speakers to exceed the limits of a normal car stereo.
What makes the possibility of going deaf worth it? Why take the risk of exploding those precious ear drums?
"Because it sounds better, you can hear everything clearer. When it's louder, everything is so crisp."

"It feels better, on your back. The girls look at you when you drive by too.

"When you see a cute girl, you turn it up loud so she sees you. Then, when you turn the corner, you turn it down.
Also, if you're giving someone a ride home that you don't want to listen to, say 'listen to this' and then crank it up so all you hear is Snoop."

"I just always listen to it loud. It's therapeutic for my back. I didn't pay for my stereo for nothing."

"Just to get pumped up for your drive, to get started for driving in LA."
