What advice do you wish had been given to you upon entering UCLA?
"Take more classes for fun and classes that you will only be able to take going to UCLA. Take classes from professors you enjoy and not just stuff for your major. Take yourself less seriously because this is an opportunity to discover the world around you and to learn about other cultures."

"You need to plan ahead and have a planner and a set schedule. A class on procrastination would also be good, because that's the first thing you do when you're a freshman."

"Don't be afraid to be undeclared for two years because that's the best way to go. Be as social as you can, because you only have four years in this place."

"Stay in the dorms, don't go into Sunset Village- it's pretty boring if you want a social life. College is more fun and more freedom. Sleep a lot, get as much sleep as possible. Afternoon naps are the key for me."
Kim Nguyen
Third-year,

"You have to work hard and try not to fall behind in your reading or else you're dead. Once you're behind in the quarter system, that's the end of it. Try to be friendly with your floor if you're living in the dorms and try to get to know those people. Spend a lot of time doing that otherwise you'll be quite lonely."

"I wish somebody would've told me what a big deal affirmative action is at this school, because it's way too big of a deal."
