It is surprising to me that a significant portion of our country's citizens believe every action taken by our government and its presidents are selfish, money-driven, power-hungry, scandal-evading, or perhaps even personal vendettas. This is even more surprising considering their enemies slammed four of our airplanes filled with men, women and children into three of our buildings. Does it ever enter the minds of people that the president might actually be doing something to prevent such occurrences from happening again?

Immediately after the tragedies last September, I was shocked to hear a loud voice advocating the “peaceful” response to these radical murderers. I could not believe they actually blamed America for what happened. Doesn't history teach these people anything? I only wish Hitler had so openly killed 3,000 individuals on our national news prior to firing up the ovens that destroyed millions. Perhaps then some prevention would have occurred.

Dismantling the well-financed organization and the tyrannical government which supported it was necessary to prevent further attacks which had the potential to be much worse These people hate our very culture. They hate the idea our girls attend school, that many of us believe in Christianity, and that our women’s faces show in public Those who advocated diplomacy over the military assault that scattered this organization to the wind would have talked and talked until the nuclear decimation of a major city took place.

No. I do not believe that George W. Bush and the last two presidents have fought terrorists to avoid public scandals or to obtain personal fame.

On the contrary, I think that countries such as Iraq, who have or soon will have nuclear capability, need to be stopped. It's time for an ounce of prevention. It's time for the whiners of this country to realize that their security is being seriously threatened by radicals who have no qualms about killing innocent people.

What will all the naysayers proclaim if Saddam Hussein funded murderers ignite a nuclear weapon off the coast of Los Angeles? Will they blame the president for not eradicating the threat or will they advocate peace talks complete with Evian water and dinner mints?

The time to act is now. The time to prevent destruction is now.  The time to open your eyes is now ... not after the next deadly attack on our country.
