Professor Chih-Ming Ho, director of the Institute of Cell Mimetic Space Exploration at UCLA, shows a device that is used to trap and hold cell samples. Ho and his colleagues conduct interdisciplinary research between engineering and biology, such as studying ways to diagnose diseases through examining saliva rather than other bodily fluids.
